Lucian Blaga University is well known both in Romania and abroad: it has close partnerships with universities from U.S.A., Germany, France, England, it is involved in international projects, as a member of academic international organizations: I.C. The objective of the project is to demonstrate the advantages of using Knowledge Management software solutions in the academic environment. The implemented solution, oriented through Project Management, improved the document flow and increased the efficiency in communication between the departments of the University. By creating a common database accessible only to the competent persons, some of the necessary steps in processing information were eliminated (e.g. phones or e-mails for internal information exchange, which are time consuming). The application allows updating faxes, e-mails and letters received by the university, existing or recently published articles and books, projects phases, research reports, educational plans. A last, but very important advantage is related to decreasing archiving spaces and archives dimensions.
