GEAR-UP students share experience at ROPARDO to the ERN Conference in Washington

Computer Science students within the GEAR-UP Program of Howard University in Washington, US who did their practice hours in summer 2014 within one of the ROPARDO projects in healthcare, presented their work at the Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) on February 19-21, 2105.

ERN WA 1

The team representing the Howard University in Washington, DC at the conference delivered an interesting presentation based on their research within our company through GEAR UP in May-June 2014. For their practice, they chose to tap into investigating possible cyber security solutions for the database of a project we were working at involving wearable for healthcare. The experimental process consisted of two main parts: encrypting the given value tables in the data integration platform within and brainstorming possible data security solutions based on those results.

The project we made available for the students to do their practice on was designed to develop software systems to monitor interactively health parameters at work and during sports activities by communicating to advanced sensors integrated in safety shoes, work wear and sportswear.

The mobile apps resulting from the project are now successfully running.

P.S. Many thanks to our friends at Howard University for updating us with the feedback!
